Nylon slings for different applications are available at CTS Cargo Tie-Downs. Nylon slings are made with large loops at each end. Our slings are made of heavy duty nylon developed to lift heavy cargo. You can avail of our durable slings in standard lengths of 4', 6', 8', 10', 12', 16', 20', 25', and 30'. We can make special length slings for you upon request. We have two choices available for you. First we have the EE2902 nylon sing that is available in either 1 ply or 2 ply models. Each model has a different working load limit according to different loading situations. For doing a straight or vertical lift with the 1-ply nylon sling, the EE2902 can lift loads for up to 2,200 lbs. in weight. The 2-ply model can do the same job with a working load limit of 4,400 lbs. In doing a basket lift wherein the sling is made to lift by passing the sling from under the cargo and the two sling loops attached to the lifting hook, the EE2902 1-ply sling is able to have a working load limit of 4,400 lbs. while the 2-ply model is able to handle a working load limit of 8,800 lbs.
Nylon slings will perform different lifting tasks with varying working load limits, depending on lifting situations. That is why our nylon slings can withstand different load limits when using different lifting methods. The EE2902 sling will have a slightly lower working load limit when doing a choker lift. The choker lift is done by making the sling pass under the object and then having one of the sling loops to pass through the other sling loop. This creates a bight around the object to be lifted that tightens up as the weight is being lifted by using only the standing end of the sling. This method of lifting is effective in trying to lift a group of pipes and other round objects. But the choker lift also lessens the sling's working load limit as the weight is unequally distributed between the loop ends of nylon slings. In cases where there is a need for a choker lift, the EE2902 will only be able to withstand a working load limit of 1,760 lbs. for the 1-ply model and 3,520 lbs for the 2-ply sling.
Nylon slings for heavier loads are also available at CTC Cargo Tie-Downs. We have the EE1903 nylon sling available for you. The EE1903 is a 3" width sling with loops also at both ends. Since it has a wider sling, the EE1903 is capable of lifting heavier work loads. The EE1903 can do a straight lift with a working load of 3,300 lbs. for the 1-ply model and 6,600 lbs. for the 2-ply sling. The EE1903 can do a basket lift with a working load limit of 6,600 lbs. for the 1-ply model and 13,200 lbs. for the 2-ply sling. The choker lift lessens the EE1903's working load limit to 2,640 lbs for the 1-ply model and 5,280 lbs. for the 2-ply nylon model. So whenever you are doing some heavy duty lifting, it is advisable to use a double-ply nylon sling that has a greater load limit than the typical single-ply model. It can be an economical and practical answer to all your lifting problems.
