A portable ladder is a better option, but a hard one to find. Fat-Deck ladder is specifically designed for flat-bed trailers. It measures 40 inches long x 18 inches wide and hooks securely onto the rub rail, it's also come with a pocket to hold winch bar as hand hold when stepping down.
